Day-by-Day Sample Itinerary
Day 1 – Arrival in Nelspruit & Transfer to Kruger
Upon arrival at Nelspruit (Mbombela) Airport, you’ll be met and transferred to your camp in the southern region of Kruger National Park. After settling into your rondavel or chalet, enjoy a light lunch and a late-afternoon game drive, your first taste of Kruger’s magic.
Evening: Dinner under the African sky with the sounds of the bush all around you.
Day 2 – Big 5 Game Drives & Bush Adventures
Rise before dawn for your morning game drive when wildlife is most active. With luck, you’ll encounter lion, elephant, buffalo, leopard, and rhino, as well as giraffe, zebra, and antelope.
Return to camp for breakfast and relaxation time, perhaps a dip in the pool or a visit to the curio shop.
Afternoon: Another game drive exploring a different section of the park.
Optional: Join a SANParks night drive in an open vehicle, spotlighting nocturnal predators and rare sightings like civet, genet, or porcupine.
Day 3 – Exploring Deeper into Kruger
After breakfast, travel northward through changing landscapes, from open grasslands to mopane forests. Stop at scenic viewpoints and waterholes.
Lunch at a rest camp en route, before arriving at your next overnight camp.
The daily route is generally accommodation dependent, but a good 5 to 8 hours of quality game viewing can comfortably be done in one day, with regular stops for photography, rest, and refreshments.
Evening: Relax with sundowners before dinner and storytelling by the campfire.
Day 4 – Departure or Extended Stay
If you’re on a 4-day safari, enjoy one last early morning drive before breakfast, then transfer back to Nelspruit Airport.
